The Role:

RealCold is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Operations Sanitation Team Member to support the cleanliness, appearance, and overall upkeep of our Polk City, Florida facility. This position maintains offices, conference rooms, employee breakrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, truck driver areas, lobbies, entrances, and other assigned common spaces in a clean, safe, and professional condition.

The successful candidate will take pride in their work, demonstrate reliable attendance, work effectively with limited supervision, and help ensure that the facility is ready for employees, visitors, customers, and audits. This role does not routinely clean the cold storage areas or dock space.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

Facility Cleaning and Upkeep

• Clean and maintain offices, conference rooms, lobbies, employee entrances, truck driver areas, and other assigned common spaces.
• Clean, disinfect, and restock restrooms throughout the facility.
• Clean and maintain employee locker rooms.
• Clean and sanitize employee breakrooms, including tables, chairs, countertops, sinks, refrigerators, microwaves, vending areas, and other common-use surfaces and appliances.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, wipe, and spot-clean floors, furniture, fixtures, doors, walls, baseboards, and other surfaces in assigned areas.
• Clean interior glass, windows, mirrors, doors, and high-touch surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling containers, replace liners, and transport waste to designated collection areas.
• Complete periodic deep-cleaning and special cleaning projects as assigned.
• Respond promptly to spills and other routine cleaning needs in assigned areas.

Supplies and Facility Support

• Monitor cleaning supplies and restroom or breakroom consumables and notify management when replenishment is needed.
• Restock paper products, soap, hand sanitizer, trash liners, and other approved supplies.
• Keep janitorial closets, storage areas, carts, and supplies clean, secure, and organized.
• Use vacuums, mops, brooms, dusters, cleaning carts, and other basic cleaning tools safely and properly.
• Identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, damaged fixtures, leaks, supply shortages, or unusual conditions to the General Manager or designee.

Safety, Compliance, and Audit Readiness

• Follow all company safety, security, sanitation, and housekeeping policies and procedures.
• Properly label, handle, use, and store cleaning products and chemicals in accordance with product instructions and company requirements.
• Use required personal protective equipment and follow posted safety instructions.
• Maintain assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition suitable for customer visits, facility tours, inspections, and audits.
• Provide additional cleaning support before or during customer visits, executive visits, and audits as directed.
• Perform duties in a manner that avoids disruption to facility employees, drivers, visitors, and operations.
• Complete cleaning checklists or other basic documentation as assigned.

Other Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with facility leadership and other associates.
• Provide coverage for assigned areas and adjust priorities based on facility needs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned. Duties and responsibilities may be updated based on business needs.

Requirements of the Position:

• Minimum one (1) year of janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, sanitation, or commercial cleaning experience is preferred.
• Experience cleaning offices or common areas within a warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or other commercial environment is preferred.
• Basic familiarity with common cleaning products, safe chemical handling, and standard janitorial tools is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate basic work instructions in English.

Work Requirements:

• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be flexible and be able to work overtime.
• Must be willing to work weekends and evenings.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Dress code is relaxed with a few rules to follow for safety; comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required.

Work Environment:

Works in a cold storage facility with exposure to low to below zero temperatures. This job may involve occasional exposure to some disagreeable elements such as dust, noise, etc. Accidents are improbable other than minor injuries. Environment may be fast paced at times. You will be working around moving machines, order pickers and forklifts.
